Dr. Fouad Allouch | Board Certified Optometrist

 

​Dr. Fouad Allouch has been practicing optometry since 2001 in Myrtle Beach. He is the head optometrist for multidisciplinary offices focusing on total patient eye care in regards to primary care optometry and Lasik laser eye surgery co-management. He implemented LASIK co-management in 2002 and introduced Optomap Retinal Exam into main practice in 2004.

Dr. Allouch received his medical training at the Indiana University School of Optometry. He did clinical externships with the Hudson Valley Medical Center (Westchester, NY), Aran Eye Associates (Miami, FL) and Perry Point Veterans Hospital. He received his B.A. in Chemistry and minors in Math and Biology from the University of Kentucky as an Otis A. Singletary Scholar award winner.

Dr. Allouch is a member of the South Carolina Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is fluent in Arabic and is able to perform a Spanish eye exam. His hobbies include reading, sports, travel and investing.

Dr. Jo Ann Jeffers | Board Certified Optometrist

 

​Dr. Jo Ann Jeffers received her biology degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. She then attended Salus University in Philadelphia, graduating as a doctor of optometry. Dr. Jeffers established Cherry Grove Eye Care in 1994. She sold her practice to Dr. Allouch in 2014, and is still available one day a week to provide comprehensive eye exams for her patients. Meanwhile, she is focusing on providing natural health and wellness care, including nutrition, hypnotherapy, craniosacral therapy and natural eye care.

Dr. Michael Shea| Board Certified Optometrist

 

Dr. Michael Shea is a Board-Certified Optometrist and has been in practice since 1998.   He provides personal family eye care with an emphasis in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.  He is committed to providing excellence in eye care.  Dr. Shea has extensive knowledge in fitting contact lenses including multifocal, monovision, and lenses for astigmatism.

Dr. Shea earned his doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida where he received academic and clinical honors.   He is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honors fraternity.

Dr. Shea lives in Cherry Grove Beach with his wife.  They have a grown daughter.  He enjoys spending time on home renovations and classic car restorations.  He has been active in numerous christian ministries.

Dr. Karen McElveen | Board Certified Optometrist

 

Dr McElveen was born in Columbia, SC, but grew up in Orangeburg, SC.
She attended Orangeburg high school.  Dr McElveen has a BS from the
University of SC and OD University of  Alabama School of Optometry.

Dr McEleveen is a member of Delta Omicron (honorary music fraternity),
USC Concert Choir, and Alpha Epsilon Delta (national premedical honor
society).

She practiced in Cola, Sc for 25 years and in Greenville, SC for 6
years.  She is National Board certified and state board certified.  Dr
McElveen is a member of the United Methodist Church.  She also has
been a member for 31 years of the SC Optometric Association and the
American Optometric Association

Dr. David Collette| Board Certified Optometrist

 

Dr David Collette is originally from Vermont where he graduated from St. Michael's College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Optometry and Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1976.  After practicing optometry for 30 years in Burlington, Vermont, Dr. Collette semi-retired to the Carolinas with his wife of 40 years.  He has been practicing family eye care and contact lenses at H Rubin Vision Center in Myrtle Beach since 2008.He welcomes new patients with a focus on contact lenses.
